How we count a load as on time, the figures by mode, and what caused the 6,600 that were late.

Each January we publish how punctual we were in the year before, including the part we would rather not print. In 2025 we delivered 412,000 loads and 98.4 % of them arrived inside the window agreed when the order was booked. That is up from 97.6 % in 2024.

How we count

A load is on time if it reaches the delivery address within the booked window: 30 minutes for timed slots, the agreed day for everything else. If the customer moves the date, the new date counts. If we move it, the old one does. A load that is early and has to wait outside the gate counts as on time, though the driver would not call it that.

By mode

Road finished at 98.9 %, helped by a mild winter and by second drivers on four long lanes. Air reached 98.1 %. Rail came in at 97.4 %, held back by engineering works on the Rhine corridor in the spring. Sea was the weakest at 94.2 %, measured against the arrival date first given by the carrier.

What went wrong

Of the 6,600 late loads, 41 % were delayed at a port or terminal, 23 % by weather or road closures, 19 % by customs queries and 17 % by us: a planning error, a missed collection or a breakdown. We wrote to every customer whose load fell in that last group.

  • Sea schedules slipped most in February and March
  • Customs delays fell by a third after we began filing entries before arrival
  • Four in five late road loads arrived the same day
A late load you were told about in the morning is a different thing from one you find out about at the gate.

What changes in 2026

We are adding a second weekly sailing on two Asian lanes, so a rolled container waits three days and not seven, and position reports on rail move from hourly to every ten minutes.
